I'd been having trouble using the flash on my camera, and yesterday I realized that there was white crustiness forming around the battery cavity. Battery acid corrosion!!!
I looked up an article on wikiHow, and guess what??? I discovered yet another use for baking soda! Baking Soda, you amaze me. If corrosion is mild, you can just rub it off with vinegar, and if it's more severe, you can soak it in a mixture of water and baking soda (probably don't soak electronics, though!) and scrub it off later (just make sure you have on rubber gloves to protect your hands! Battery acid is harsh!) Useful information!
