Good Tie-dings

Why do I enjoy making things out of men's ties??? Is it because of all the fun vintage fabrics?  Is it because they are already sewn for you?  Is it because I enjoy the irony of cutting up a symbol of masculinity and power and creating something cute and light-hearted with it?
Maybe I'm talking too much.

Last night I made this:

~A cup cozy from a tie~

  This one has velcro to adjust to cup size. 

Great little stocking stuffer!

And this:

~A stocking with a tie-cuff~

I had extra velvet laying around from an old upholstery project and used a tie for the cuff of the stocking, and a few vintage buttons and cut velvet bow to feminize it a bit.
