Blessing Box

This past week-end marked the one-year anniversary of our move to Virginia and I can hardly believe how quickly time flew by.  It feels like we've really accomplished something surviving (and enjoying!) the first year of our new life here.

When we moved into our new house, my dad gave us a box. Not just any box- a blessing box which we would end up keeping on the bookshelf in our living room. It was filled with blank note cards. Attached was a letter encouraging us to fill the box with written blessings and answered  prayers so that we wouldn't forget what the Lord has done for us.  Now that the year is up, I am opening the box once again to review all the ways that God has provided for us and graciously blessed us.  My heart overflows with gratitude.
We want to continue to record our blessings; some small, some large, place them in the blessing box, and read them annually with our children (we'll probably do it each New Year's Day).  It will be a precious time to reflect on God's provision and our gratitude.

Some of this past year's blessings include:

*Dave's new job (he enjoys it!)

*moving to a beautiful state

*having sweet and friendly neighbors

*affordable new mini van

*affordable rental house that we LOVE

*$200 double stroller that neighbor sold us for $35 yay! 

*EZRA DAVID BORN MAY 30TH!!!! Healthy, beautiful baby boy!!!

*salvation of a student in our Sunday School class

*finding a church, small group

*making new friends :-)
